I
am a farmer and businesswoman from Walton on Trent. After gaining an HND in
Agriculture from Harper Adams Agricultural College I spent 10 years as Group
Secretary for the National Farmers Union. Following this, I returned to my
childhood home and have run and developed my farm, including repurposing
redundant farm buildings into environmentally friendly, high-specification
offices; personally, undertaking all the planning activity and project managing
the construction and commissioning.
I
have extensive experience of working with the Countryside Stewardship
Environmental schemes, achieving Higher Tier status through conservation
activities. I am passionate about the environment, biodiversity and working on
behalf of residents to protect our greenspaces, safeguard our villages, gain
better healthcare provision and I am dedicated to nurturing and protecting the
countryside. As District Councillor I have facilitated meetings between the
local rural community, the NFU, and the Police to help improve communications
and resources to tackle rural crime and flytipping.
I
was elected as Seales District Councillor in 2019 and have been re-elected as District
Councillor following the 5th May 2023 election and I will now continue
the work I had begun, acting with enthusiasm and diligence in representing
Seales Ward and South Derbyshire as an Independent Councillor. Please feel free
to contact me.
